One of the most popular players ever to grace our famous slope has this week announced his retirement from the game.
Alex Rowe joined The Bulldogs in 2013 and was an integral part of our amazing 2013 campaign, reaching the Championship Play Off Final. After a tough first half in the Semi Final at Featherstone, Rowey scored a crucial Try just just before the break to bring his side back into the game, and set up one of the most amazing halves of Rugby League we’ll see.
He was again huge in the 2016 Season as the side finished 3rd in the Betfred Championship before playing away at Hull KR and Headingley in the Super League Qualifiers.
In a career total of 325 appearances and 53 Tries, Alex played 168 times for Batley Bulldogs, scoring 20 Times in a 6 year spell at The FOx’s Biscuits Stadium.
A huge thank you for all your efforts big man, enjoy your retirement!
