We had a real international feel to the Pink Weekend this year with visitors from around the world at the game!!

Our Mascots on Sunday were Gonzalo Oliver and family who had travelled from Mexico to be with us and had a great time running out with the teams.

All the way from Japan Hannah has been helping out with the Holiday Clubs this week as part of her holiday voluntary work and was presented with a Bulldogs vest by our Community Team as a thank you for her hard work.

And among our most enthusiastic visitors ever was Robert Sjöström, a Leeds UTD supporter from Sweden.

In the UK for the Leeds match on Saturday, Robert stayed an extra day to see The Bulldogs and take in his first ever Rugby League match. He left with a new passion and a host of merchandise purchased from BISSA and The Doghouse!

Following his visit, as well as posting on our Facebook page, Robert sent a fantastic email thanking everyone for making him welcome at The Fox’s Biscuits Stadium:

“Sitting on a train back from Batley to Leeds… and I just wanna give you and all the staff and team behind
Batley Bulldogs a big THANK YOU for a day that I will never forget!

As I told you before this was my first ever experience of Rugby… and what a success is was!

The atmosphere around the game was magical! Home and away fans together and no police in sight… amazing!

This is what sport is about!

I will come back for sure!

Next time I’m planning my trip to see Leeds United Batley bulldogs will always be in consideration.

Give my love to everybody from the team down to the lovely lady who served me a whole lot of cider.
