We have a vacancy for a Lead Physiotherapist/Sports Rehabilitator/Therapist to join our medical team ahead of the 2026 season. We are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated and passionate individual who is keen to join a growing medical department. This role is aimed at an individual with experience working in rugby league and is ready for the challenge of managing a department. We are looking for someone to commit to evening/weekend training sessions alongside weekend fixtures.
You would need to be flexible to the needs of the club and the demands required of the medical team.
Duties and Expectations
- To work collaboratively and communicate effectively as part of a medical department.
- To ensure their knowledge, skills and essential training are kept up to date and appropriate for their role.
- To work flexibly to ensure cover is provided for training sessions and games taking into consideration unsociable hours and short notice.
- To assess and treat injured players accurately, including offering advice and developing informed rehabilitation programmes where appropriate.
- To provide pitch-side emergency cover during training sessions and match days.
- To provide strapping, soft tissue massage and general preparation for players prior to kick off on match days.
- To communicate with the wider medical team regarding stock and equipment shortages.
- Maintain medical notes in line with GDPR.
Essential requirements:
- BSc (hons) Sports Rehabilitation (BASRaT) / Sports Therapy / Physiotherapy degree/masters.
- IMMOFP or equivalent
- Professional body accreditation and insurance to practice.
- Excellent communication skills to work as part of an integrated interdisciplinary team.
- Rate of pay can be negotiated based on experience.
