Matt Diskin’s men picked up a much needed victory in the final fixture of the regular season at The Fox’s Biscuits Stadium.

In a stop start match the home side were well in control by half time with tries from Brad Day, James Harrison, Jason Crookes and the returning Wayne Reittie, all converted by Dave Scott. Swinton’s only reply was an early penalty goal giving The Bulldogs a 24-2 half time lead.

The second period continued much the same with impressive home debutant Louis Jouffret sending James Harrison barging through the Lions’ defence for his second of the day within minutes of the restart. Dave Scott and Johnny Campbell added further scores for Batley until a scrappy final 15 minutes saw 3 players sent to the bin and the visitors were able to take advantage of an 11 man home side to narrow the margin.

Final Score: Bulldogs 40-18 Lions
