Playing for Success Kirklees held a celebration event for cohorts of young people from the 5 study centres in Kirklees including Huddersfield Town F.C Learning Zone, Huddersfield Giants RLFC Study Centre, Batley Bulldogs Study Centre, Dewsbury Rams RLFC Study Centre and
Tennis Club Study Centre. Children graduated from the centres after attending for ten weeks and studying for 30 hours and achieved Asdan accreditation and Children's University accreditation.
Playing for Success is a successful narrowing the gap and raising attainment strategy and has been running in Kirklees for 11 years with the support of the 5 clubs and Kirklees LA in partnership with DfE. The Deputy Mayor, Councillor Eric Firth and Councillor Kath Harris attended the event held at The Galpharm Stadium and Lee Clarke, HTFC Manager and Terry McDermott, First Team Coach presented certificates.
