GARETH'S A RECORD EQUALLER!

Bulldogs' scrum-half Gareth Moore equalled a club record during Sunday's emphatic Challenge Cup win over Leeds University.  Moore's 2 tries and 11 goals yielded him a total of 30 individual points in a game, bringing him level with former Gallant Youths full-back Simon Wilson.  Moore once again demonstrated excellent goalkicking skills on Sunday to write his name in the record books and bring back a name from the 1990's of great familiarity to our older supporters.  Click through for more stats on Simon.

PLAYER PROFILES NOW ADDED

Squad player profiles and sponsors have been added to the website on Tuesday.  These feature in a slide show along the left-hand edge of the website and are also available within the 'First Team' section of the site.  There are still a handful of the squad to be included who weren't available at the initial photo-call, but these should be added within the next week or so.

JOHNNY PICKS UP AWARD

Bulldogs' flying full-back Johnny Campbell was presented with his Northern Rail Cup Player of the Round award on Sunday prior to the Leeds University cup tie.  Johnny picked up the award for an outstanding performance in the Bulldogs' 46-10 win over Swinton Lions at the Mount.

AMATEUR GIANT-KILLERS NEXT FOR 'DOGS

Following on from yesterday's comprehensive 70-6 victory over Leeds University in the Carnegie Challenge Cup, the Batley Bulldogs were on Monday evening pitted against Halifax amateur oufit Siddal in the Fourth Round of the Challenge Cup.  Siddal despatched Doncaster in the last round of the competition and are sure to provide an uncomfortable afternoon for Karl Harrison and his side.

With Siddal drawn at home, the date, venue and kick-off time are yet to be determined, but we will bring you news of the fixture here as soon as we have it.

GATESHEAD REARRANGED

The club has today received confirmation that the Northern Rail Cup game against Gateshead Thunder has now been rearranged for Wednesday, 17th March with a 7.30pm kick-off.

CHALLENGE CUP GIANT-KILLING NOMINATIONS!

The RFL is asking Batley Bulldogs fans to nominate their greatest Challenge Cup giant-killing act of all time in a special poll to mark the 113th anniversary of Rugby League’s oldest and most prestigious knockout competition.

As teams from the community game, Student RL, Armed Forces, Co-operative Championships and Engage Super League prepare for their date with destiny in the third and fourth rounds of the 2010 Carnegie Challenge Cup, the RFL is urging supporters to help produce a definitive list of the biggest shocks in the tournament’s history.
